History:
  She passed from this life to the next with hope and courage in a heart that had healed against all medical odds. We believe that Julie leaves an important legacy in this world. Much can be learned from her health experiences and she will thus help many other people, far into the future. Julie was born in Buffalo on June 25, 1971. She was a graduate of Akron High School class of 1989. She went on to further her education earning an Associate Degree in Accounting from Erie Community College. Julie then went on to earn her Bachelors Degree in History from SUNY Oswego. She was working on her Masters in Human Resources until her illness.
Family:
  Julie is and will always be the muched loved daughter of two parents who battled valiantly to give her life of health and dignity. Julie is the loving daughter of Raymond and Sharon Carlo of Akron. (We will not speak of Julie in the past tense; she will always be with us.) Dear sister of Jennifer Carlo of Pittsburgh, PA. and Timothy (Jennifer) Carlo of Amherst, N.Y. Cherished and proud aunt of Anneke, Sofia and Eve Carlo, all of whom love and miss her. Julie is survived and mourned by aunts, uncles, cousins, and many steadfast friends.
Viewing info:
  Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2 to 8 PM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME LLC, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron. A Mass of Celebration for Julie’s life will take place at 11 AM Saturday in St. Teresa RC Church, Akron.

  Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Akron,N.Y.
Memorials:
  We would like to redo the interior garden at Harris Hill Nursing Facility as a memorial to Julie, so that her friends, fellow residents, and caregivers there can enjoy a beautiful and peaceful spot in her memory. Anyone wishing to do so can make memorials to the Julie Carlo Garden Fund, Harris Hill Nursing Facility, 2699 Wehrle Drive, Williamsville, NY 14221. Please remember her with a smile as she remembers you with a smile.
